Students involved in the Reading Reaps Rewards (R3) program at Camp Grosvenor benefit from daily
literacy instruction provided by Newport County certified teachers and academic enrichment activities
provided by youth development professionals. R3 provides children, and in particular those most in
need of academic and social interventions, with access to opportunities that would otherwise not be
available to them.
Position Description: R3 Summer Camp Teachers will help create and implement an 8-week program
that addresses and prevents the Summer Slide with youth ages six to ten years old. The R3 program will
engage teachers in planning fun, academically enriching activities that align to literacy standards and
prevent summer learning loss. Teachers must coordinate their curriculum, supported by a Technical
Advisor, to ensure that the intention and goals of the program plans are consistent.

Sitting, standing, active up and down within area. Running, bending, swimming, throwing and other
camp related movements.
Terms of Employment
Teachers will be paid $30.00 hourly for up to 30 hours of program weekly. The schedule is Monday -
Friday from 9:30 to 3:30. Camp will run July 1 (no camp 7/4, 7/5) through August 23.

part of a nationwide movement of more than 4,000 Boys & Girls Clubs, and we provide services to more
than 1,800 members annually.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County offers a variety of programs for children, teens, adults and
families. Programs include after school licensed child care, homework help, a teen center, summer
camp, swimming lessons and aquatics, a fitness center, dance and drama, computers and technology,
music and music production, and the fine arts.
