Purpose Statement:

The job of Regional Administrator - Behavioral Outreach is done for the purpose/s of developing student success in academics by implementing research-based practices in behavioral supports for students; documenting teaching and student progress, activities, outcomes; developing lesson plans; modeling successful teaching strategies; and providing feedback to staff and administration regarding progress, plan modification, and impact of professional development activities.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes data from a variety of sources for the purpose of assisting in the development and implementation of school-wide and individual student behavior supports.
  • Coaches teachers for the purpose of developing effective teacher-leaders within the schools.
  • Collaborates with a variety of groups and individuals (e.g. principals, teachers, program directors, etc.) for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions, and planning curriculum and school improvement.
  • Coordinates activities (e.g. training sessions, classes, workshops, equipment purchases, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and support, ensuring availability of items, and delivering services in conformance with established guidelines.
  • Develops staff training programs related to behavior supports for the purpose of providing a variety of teaching strategies to enhance student success.
  • Develops (from researching to promoting and selling) new lines of support services for the purpose of maintaining consistent growth in the breadth and depth of Capital Region ESD 113 supports.
  • Facilitates a variety of activities (e.g. curriculum alignment, school improvement, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring district outcomes are met.
  • Maintains documents, files, and records for the purpose of providing accurate and timely information to the district while complying with district, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g. leadership team, SIP, statewide meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and receiving information to develop or enhance skills.
  • Prepares a variety of materials (e.g. evaluations, training materials, pre/post evaluations, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of providing written documentation, conveying information, and complying with ESD and state guidelines.
  • Provides a range of support (e.g. school-wide PBIS, FBAs, BIPs, etc.) for the purpose of resolving behavioral issues while complying with district, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Researches a variety of topics (e.g. technology, strategies, assessment practices, school restructuring, etc.) for the purpose of keeping abreast of current trends, technology, and tools related to educational improvement.
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of stakeholders (e.g. teachers, principals, administrators, students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and recommendations.
  • Supervises a variety of staff training programs (e.g. teaching strategies, budget development, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the outcomes are met for the region while complying with district, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Trains teachers and administrators on a variety of topics (e.g. best practices, learning strategies, school structure, etc.) for the purpose of improving student success while complying with the district, state, and federal policies and regulations.

Marginal Functions:

  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: applying assessment techniques; operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: age appropriate activities; concepts of grammar and punctuation; school restructuring processes; performance based assessments and scoring rubrics; and pertinent codes, policies, regulations, and laws.

ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: effectively communicating with persons of varied backgrounds and educational levels; setting priorities; working as part of a team; working with detailed information; traveling; and working some evenings and weekends.

Responsibility

Responsibilities include: working independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve unit objectives; directing other persons within a department, large work unit, and/or across several small work units; supervising the use of funds. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization’s services.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 30% walking, and 50% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Experience: Job related experience within a specialized field is required.

Education (Minimum): Bachelors degree in job-related area.

Equivalency: Masters Degree or Advanced Training preferred.

Certificates and Licenses: BCBA Certificate Required, Valid Driver’s License & Evidence of Insurability, and Valid WA State Teaching Certificate Preferred

Continuing Education/Training: Maintains Certificates and Licenses

Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance and WA State Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Release
