Under the supervision of the Delivery and Routing Manager, the Delivery Driver delivers flowers, plants, and gifts to customers in an efficient, safe, and timely manner while representing Billy Heroman's with outstanding class and character. When coming into contact with the public, Delivery Drivers should reflect the company philosophy of exceeding our customer’s expectations.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:

• Load the delivery vehicle with items scheduled for delivery.
• Check all delivery items for potential quality issues, and have any issues addressed prior to leaving the store to deliver.
• Read the manifest, pull the required items, and deliver them to the correct addresses in a timely manner.
• Ability to drive safely
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the assigned delivery vehicle.
• Check the assigned delivery vehicle for maintenance issues daily.
• Check the assigned delivery vehicle fuel level at the beginning and end of each route to ensure that the fuel level never goes below 1/4 of a tank.
• Ensure that the delivery vehicle is equipped at all times with a gas card, an insurance card, and vehicle registration.
• Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
• Assist the design room with stocking supplies, vases, funeral sinks, and containers, as needed.
• Make every effort to be aware of flower and plant varieties and care.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in an environment with varying climates. The individual performing this job must be able to perform his or her job duties while exposed to varying temperatures, including working in a storage cooler (approx. 35 degrees).

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This job requires the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. or more and the ability to push or pull up to 100 lbs. The individual performing this job must also be able to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with some nights and weekends. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must work a minimum of 36 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
