We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual to join our team as the Training Manager. As the Training Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing training programs to ensure our employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to uphold our standards of excellence in tree care.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for tree care technicians, climbers, and ground crew members.
• Conduct on-the-job training sessions and workshops to instruct employees on proper tree care techniques, safety protocols, equipment operation, and industry best practices.
• Delegate training to qualified crew members
• Collaborate with management to identify training needs and prioritize areas for skill development.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments and feedback mechanisms, make adjustments as necessary to enhance learning outcomes.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in tree care techniques, incorporating relevant updates into training curriculum.
• Mentor and provide ongoing support to employees, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• Assist in recruitment efforts by participating in interviews and evaluating candidates for technical proficiency and suitability for training.
• Supervise general tree care members from “Groundsperson Apprentice to Arborist Apprentice level”
• Serve as a member of the general tree care team, balancing training with production needs. Production includes all aspects of general tree care including crew leading, climbing, equipment operation, ect.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in arboriculture with demonstrated expertise in tree care techniques and practices.
• Proven experience in a leadership role
• ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) certification or Massachusetts Certified Arborist
• Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
• 2A/1B Massachusetts Hoisting License (no later than 90 days from the start)
• Certified Treecare Safety Professional (no later than 90 days from the start)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to industry regulations and standards.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint

Work Schedule:

· Scheduled office hours, with the majority of time spent in the field with crew
· Morning commute to both Newton and Medford shops
