Bridges of Hope (Bridges) helps children and youth develop healthy coping skills – and avoid negative coping skills – that increase the chance that a child & family will avoid the downward spiral that the death of a family member so often creates.

In this role, you will play a central role in enhancing community awareness, refining partner engagement strategies, developing comprehensive training materials, and optimizing the organization of supplies for our Sand Dollar Club initiative. As part of our mission to break the cycle of poverty, you will empower children and families by ensuring effective grief support, contributing to academic achievement, emotional development, and resilience in the face of loss. You'll Be Successful If You:

What We Offer:

• AmeriCorps VISTA members earn a Living Stipend $22,819.16 annually (bi-weekly checks)
• AmeriCorps VISTA members can earn an Education Stipend of $7395.00
• Supplemental housing stipend based on need provided (case by case consideration)

• Childcare Benefits (for those who qualify) If you have children under the age of 13, you may qualify for the AmeriCorps childcare benefit offered to members serving with the VISTA program. Your approved benefit rates will be your childcare provider’s rates or the maximum allowable rate in the state in which the childcare is being provided (whichever is the lesser of the two).
• Professional Training & Development

Things You Need to Know:

• Service Term: AmeriCorps VISTA members serve full-time (approximately 40 hours per week, occasional weekend hours) from July 29, 2024 -July 2025.
• Travel: AmeriCorps VISTA Program Coordinator will regularly travel locally around the Lowcountry to meet with volunteers, community partners, and program sites. Access to reliable transportation will be necessary.
