POSITION SUMMARY

BEER NUTS Brand Snacks is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility machinery and equipment. This role will be responsible for problem solving, resolutions, analyzing machinery, equipment issues, disassembling, repair, and replacing parts. The ideal candidate is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONDSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Install, maintain, repair, disassemble and troubleshoot complex processes, high speed packaging machinery, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, process and instrumentation diagrams, flow diagrams, and machinery manuals to diagnose problems, identify components, and verify proper equipment operation.
  • Perform building repairs, maintenance, and fabrication work.
  • Keep maintenance logs and reports on daily activities.
  • Repair jacks and material handling equipment including battery operated pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, stand up and sit-down trucks.
  • Contact vendors regarding repairs and or the availability of repair parts.
  • Work with outside vendors for repairs and manufacturing equipment.
  • Layout, plan, measure, and execute tasks to support maintenance efforts.
  • Ensures that repairs are tidy, functional, and meet food safety standards.
  • Able to use machine shop tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Provide technical expertise to train and support production and create an environment of continuous learning.
  • Follow safety and environmental objectives, targets, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to management of any issues.
  • Participate in coordination of projects (e.g., renovations)
  • Follow all required Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) quality, and food safety requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Demonstrate mechanical ability and knowledge to service onsite machinery and equipment
  • At least 1 year of prior experience in a similar position
  • Electrical knowledge (trouble shooting, install and repair)
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLCs
  • Experience with implementation and maintenance of automation equipment and robotics
  • Possesses strong communication, organizational, multi-tasking, and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs.
  • Excellent planning and leadership skills
  • Dependable
  • Possess a positive attitude, be efficient, and productive
  • Basic math skills, tech savvy, knowledge of production procedures

PERFERRED QUALFICATIONS

  • HVAC system experience preferred
  • Welding, electrical, and plumbing experience preferred
  • Possess strong technical knowledge in fabrication.
  • Technical degree or any other related certifications or training
  • NEC Electrical Standards Knowledge
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs
  • 3 years of prior experience as Maintenance Mechanic or 2-year technical degree in maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, or related field of study AND 1 year of prior experience as Maintenance mechanic.

Location: Bloomington, IL

Hours: 1 Shift; Monday – Friday 6:00 A.M. – 2:30 P.M. Possibility for occasional overtime. Hours can vary depending on circumstances.

Status: Full-time/Hourly
