Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the direct care of residents, including supervision of Caregivers.
  • Support and participate in assessment, delivery and electronic documentation of all nursing care required including assessment, response to change in resident condition, emergency, psychosocial needs and other resident care requirements. Maintain appropriate documentation in accordance with facility and state requirements.
  • Accurately administer medications and treatments in a timely fashion and documents appropriately on eMAR. This includes accurate documentation of resident behavioral tracking as well as assuring medications are ordered and available in a timely fashion.
  • Assists Caregivers in providing direct care when needed. Actively assist with answering resident-initiated call light service requests. Supervise, teach and model caregiving with the Caregivers from a holistic perspective including social/emotional, spiritual and physical care to meet the needs of the whole person and help maintain the physiological and psychological functions of residents under their care. Promote residents' independence within the limits of their abilities. Reflect holistic approach in resident’s Care Assessment and Negotiated Care Plan.
  • Identify residents’ needs based on a Care Assessment and participate in the establishment of a Negotiated Care Plan in collaboration with the resident, their family or representative and the Provider to meet these needs. Keep these documents up to date with current changes as needs change.
  • Communicate with other licensed staff, physicians, other disciplines, families and administrative staff regarding resident's status.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with all DSHS Regulations and Washington State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Actively demonstrate the Mission and Values of Ashford Senior Living, and help the Caregivers in demonstrating them also.
  • Participate in evaluation and disciplinary processes for Caregivers, including but not limited to, hiring, performance evaluations and initiating corrective actions up to recommendation for termination.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Practical Nurse with current licensure and in good standing with the State of Washington.
  • Previous Assisted Living, skilled nursing/hospital experience, including some work with seniors.
  • Have a working knowledge of gerontology and geriatric nursing.
  • Experience sub-acute/rehab or Alzheimer’s care preferred.
  • Have demonstrated patient assessment skills.
  • Working knowledge of Apple OS and iOS, Microsoft office products (Word, Excel).
  • Experience with Electronic Medical/Health records and computer documentation system preferred.
