Location: Hybrid – Within 1-2 hours of Winston-Salem headquarters

Job Type: Part-Time Non-Exempt

Hours: Flexible (Average less than 30 hours/week)

Reports to: Director of Human Resources

Salary: $22-25/hour (Commensurate with education, and experience) plus $2,500 - $5,000 per placement

Summary:

The Part-Time Recruiting Specialist supports the recruiting efforts at Avid. Using education and experience, utilizes sourcing avenues for highly qualified technical candidates and others, as needed. Assists with the interview process and schedules. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and is expected to work in the Winston-Salem headquarters for initial onboarding and training, then approximately 3-4 days per month on average. Assists in further development of Avid’s desire to be an employer of choice. Participates in Avid’s vision, to be a High Performance, Next Generation System Integrator Led by an Empowered Workforce, while holding true to our core values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Director of Human Resources and hiring managers to understand the talent needs of the business and industry to achieve staffing objectives
  • Proactively communicates to clarify requirements and expectations, interview timelines, and processes
  • Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications
  • Utilizes effective sourcing techniques and technologies to identify qualified passive and active candidates
  • Crafts and executes Boolean and advanced search functions to extract candidate data
  • Search job boards and social media outlets for qualified candidates
  • Sources passive candidates through referrals, networking, internet searches, etc.
  • Screens resumes in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and job boards to determine if they match the job requirements
  • Shortlists potential applicants for virtual interviews based on comparison of resume and application versus position requirements
  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants via MS Teams, analyzing responses, evaluating relevant experience, skills, and fit with to job requirements, summarizing interview notes to present qualified, engaged candidates to hiring manager
  • Maintains updated candidate status / disposition in ATS to ensure compliance with company policies as well as federal and state employment
  • Maintains current knowledge of emerging technology to stay abreast of innovative sourcing trends, social media outlets and best talent acquisition channels
  • Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions as needed
  • Promotes the company and job openings by sharing via LinkedIn, maintaining a strong and professional LinkedIn presence
  • Maintains accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates, searches, and other recruiting activities
  • Provides regular updates and receives feedback on sourcing efforts
  • Creates reports on sourcing activity on a weekly basis
  • Assists with scheduling virtual and onsite interviews
  • Assists with other duties and projects within HR Department as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience recruiting for technical/engineering positions in a corporate or recruitment consultancy environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communication, Marketing or relevant degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong Knowledge of candidate sourcing and interview practices
  • Experience using various social medial platforms and sourcing tools, such as LinkedIn, ATS, etc.
  • Knowledge of Boolean search strings or other recruitment search strategies
  • Strong Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, and general software experience
  • Ability to assess candidate based on fit with job descriptions and make sound recommendations
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices relevant to recruiting and interviewing
  • Ability to work and interact in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude
  • Self-directed and highly motivated; requiring minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform all essential duties successfully
