Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome clients and their pets as they arrive at the veterinary clinic
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments for veterinary services
- Collect and update client information, including medical history and contact details
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal handling and restraint during examinations and procedures
- Provide basic pet care instructions to clients, including feeding, grooming, and medication administration
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room
- Process payments for services rendered and handle financial transactions accurately
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal-related field is preferred
- Strong knowledge of animal handling techniques and behavior
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Proficient in computer skills, including data entry and appointment scheduling software
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining client records
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to veterinary medicine is a plus
Skills:
- Animal handling
- Pet grooming
- Dog handling
- Equine (horse) care experience is a plus
- Animal husbandry knowledge
- Medical collection experience (collecting samples, taking vitals)
- Veterinary terminology understanding
- Animal restraint techniques
- Basic pet care knowledge (feeding, grooming, medication administration)
- Kennel management experience
