We are seeking a caregiver (DSP) for an active young man who experiences developmental disabilities. He lives in his own apartment in the Hollywood district in Portland. Fantastic opportunity for meaningful work with great benefits!

TASKS:

· You will provide support for him to pursue social activities, to attend Zoom meetings for work and pleasure, to participate in volunteer activities.

· You will assist him with all activities of daily living, including wheelchair transfers, showering and dressing, using an electronic lift.

· You will also assist him with technology by supporting his use of a communication device, computer, and power wheelchair.

· You will provide life coaching and emotional support, by assisting him to deal with his anxiety and pain, and by helping him explore his college and work goals.

· Food preparations, medication administration.

HOURS (30 HOURS PER WEEK)

• Overnight Shifts Day time shifts necessary
• 12-16 hour shifts available
• Will be expected to fill in occasionally for other team members.

· $20-$23 hour depending on your training.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Pass a reference check and criminal history background check.

· Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

· Must maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.

· Maintain annual education hours.

· Must be able to lift 75lbs.

· Must own a smart phone and must have basic computer skills.

• Able to read, write and document appropriately and pay attention to details.

· Must be capable of working independently.

· Must have reliable transportation.

QUALITIES:

· Be an independent, self-motivated, and dependable worker.

· Be an excellent communicator, in person and with technology.

· Must be patient and competent.

· Experience in developmental disability field is helpful but not a requirement.
