Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

American Bottoms Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility, located in Sauget Illinois, is seeking an experienced, Plant Operator.

American Bottoms is a regional wastewater treatment facility providing services to Sauget, East St. Louis, Cahokia, and the surrounding communities.

Job Description

Duties include monitoring gauges, meters and control panels; maintaining logs and reports; operating valves, gates, pumps, switchgears and generators;

collecting samples; operating and monitoring computerized control systems; operating de-watering equipment; performing preventative maintenance; and cleaning.

Work Rotating Shifts to provide 24 hour coverage 365 days of the year

Minimum Qualifications

Special consideration will be given to candidates who have completed a training program in wastewater treatment plants with an emphasis on advanced biological treatment.

Applicants must have a valid drivers' license, graduated from high school or trade school or equivalent, and proficient in basic computer skills.
