Job Title: Assembler
Compensation: Based on experience
Reports To: Assembly Supervisor
Job Overview:
Assemblers are responsible for final assembly of automotive shipping containers prior to shipment. In order to be successful, the assembler will need to be detail and task oriented. Focus will be on completing one row of racks at a time; promoting efficiency. Often, an assembler will build the same type of rack for an entire day or weeks, but will need to be flexible to change tasks. This could pertain to organizing material carts or verifying material counts.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Under direction of the Assembly Supervisor, assemble racks by installing dunnage, shelves, locking arms, manufacturing ID tags, gas shocks, remove weld spatter and surface rust from bare metal surfaces, and paint stencils as required.
· Complete racks per the Assembly Standard Operating Procedure or by Assembly Supervisor’s direction.
· Perform paint touch up on racks as required.
· Use battery powered hand tools such as Impacts and Drills.
· Operate power tools such as circular saw and right angle grinders.
· Adhere to all safety requirements while at work and while operating tools.
· Complete racks within allotted time frames to maintain production budget requirements.
· Review completed racks for accuracy and completion based on communication from Assembly Supervisor.
· Clean and maintain the assembly work area so that it is free of trash, debris, and potential safety hazards.
· Other duties as assigned by the Assembly Supervisor.
Desired skills:
· Ability to read prints.
· Familiarity with power tools (impacts, drills, right angle grinders, etc).
· Adept at using a tape measure.
· Able to retain information well, both verbally and written.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
· Ability to continuously stand for entire shift.
· Ability to crouch or kneel frequently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
