Objective Summary: The Social Services Director will oversee the daily operations of our LTC facility in conjunction with the needs of our residents.
Essential Functions:
1) Coordinates admissions for new and returning residents
2) Conducts small group and individual tours of the facility and provides information to prospective residents and their families
3) Coordinates moves within the facility
4) Conducts and supervises bi-annual employee in-service programs pertaining to resident rights and responsibilities
5) Manages the Social Services department annual budget
6) Establishes rapport and counsels with residents and their families
7) Serves on various quality improvement committees
8) Works with coworkers, supervisors and staff from all departments to solve problems and improve processes and services for residents and the facility
9) Adjusts priorities and schedules to meet resident and facility needs
10) Reports and assists in the correction of problems related to the safety, cleanliness and comfort of the residents and work areas. Ensures universal precautions and infection control techniques are followed and maintained.
11) Works to improve job skills, knowledge and performance
12) Follows established personnel, department and facility policies and procedures
13) Attends mandatory educational programs and training identified by the facility
14) Accepts changes in work schedule/assignments to meet the needs of the residents
15) Performs other related duties as assigned
