Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Activities Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for senior care and creating engaging recreational activities for residents. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning and implementing a variety of programs to enhance the quality of life for our residents.
Duties:
- Develop and coordinate recreational therapy programs tailored to the needs and interests of senior residents
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote participation in activities
- Manage schedules and ensure timely execution of planned events
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed during activity sessions
- Utilize social work principles to support residents' emotional well-being
- Plan and organize events, outings, and special occasions within the community
- Specialize in memory care and dementia care activities
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or senior care setting is required
- Proficiency in event planning and execution
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques beneficial
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff
