CENA/HHA Full-time or Part-time

Basic Job Duties:

• A Private Duty HHA/CENA will administer personal care and basic household services to and for the client under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• The assignment and duties of the HHA/CENA may include assisting with personal care, ambulation and exercise, assisting with medications, reporting and recording changes in the client’s conditions and/or needs, household services, light housework and laundry, transportation and companionship.

Requirements:

• The HHA/CENA will show evidence of completion of a formal education program, transcripts of basic training for Health Care related student occupations, MA certificate completion, or sufficient past experience with caring for an individual.
• The HHA assist /CENA will be selected on the basis of such factors as an empathetic attitude toward the elderly, disabled and sick.
• Must be able to read, write, drive, follow the directions of the nursing staff and have a maturity level of dealing with the demands of the job.
• Must be responsible and dependable.
• Must be trustworthy and honest.
• Must know when to engage and when not to engage with conversation.
• Must understand that if overtime required we will expect that you will.
• Must understand that hours can fluctuate with cases and that you may need to work various times of the day and/or with different clients at times.
• The HHA/CENA will possess knowledge of methods of assisting clients to achieve maximum self-reliance, principles of nutrition and meal preparation, the aging process, emotional problems of illness, procedures of maintaining a clean, healthy and pleasant environment, work with the agency and health team, ethics and confidentiality.
• In addition, the HHA/CENA must possess the ability recognize limitations and scope of own role and seek supervision when indicated.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• You will be scheduled every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Work ethic must be excellent as you represent the agency in the community.
