1845 Taste Texas is looking for a Lead Hostess!

You’ll be the face of our restaurant and with a guest-first focus. The Lead Hostess is responsible for coordinating the operation and flow of the dining room, adjusting seating capacities to balance guests, and maximizing cover counts.

You must be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining poise and a professional demeanor, and effectively communicate with the Management team in order to provide our guests with the exceptional level of service they deserve.

Responsibilities

  • Enthusiastically welcome every guest at the door and acknowledge VIP guests by name
  • Effectively use and understand our online reservation system
  • Oversee, manage, and maximize guests reservations and restaurant seating capacity
  • Look over daily reservation notes prior to the shift and communicate with FOH Management regarding any VIP guests or special requests when necessary
  • Assist in communicating hiring needs
  • Train and continuously expand the knowledge of current and new host team members
  • Recognize opportunities to enhance the guest experience
  • Anticipate needs of any special reservations or VIP guests
  • Communicate seating needs to host team, management, and server assistants/bussers
  • Promote the company’s elevated level of service standards by exhibiting friendliness, knowledge of the restaurant, and attentiveness to the guests’ needs
  • Monitor which tables are in use, available, and understand the flow and timing of our dining experience
  • Be aware of when tables are reset and ready for guests and ensure the host team is paging/texting and seating guests as quickly as possible
  • Be informed of peak time slots and adjust the wait time accordingly
  • Keeps an accurate count of guests providing the kitchen and management with updates regularly
  • Frequently check back and communicate with guests who are waiting to be sat
  • Communicate with management about any tables who were under-quoted on the wait list or were sat after their reservation time

Skills

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a host, Lead hostess experience preferred
  • Warm and outgoing personality with a passion for restaurants and customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patience and customer-oriented approach
  • People-person with a friendly, professional attitude
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Leadership skills and willingness to train others
