The Ministry: OurCalling is a ministry specifically focused on the unsheltered homeless community. We operate an outreach center for the homeless community near downtown Dallas.We are passionate about loving and helping the unsheltered homeless transition to better lives. We are a faith-based ministry where every job is a ministry position. Each staff member should be able to clearly share the Gospel and communicate their own testimony. While everyone on the team wears multiple hats, our primary function is getting people off the street and helping them walk with Jesus. We want everything that we do to point to Jesus. We serve 200-400 guests daily. We are a “no-barrier” facility that is welcoming and compassionate to all who enter.

Summary:The Donor Engagement Coordinator will steward and engage donors to advance the mission, brand, and generosity toward OurCalling’s ministry. The coordinator will retain and grow a portfolio of mid-level individual donors to support the organization’s mission and goals annually. The coordinator will work in collaboration with and under the direction of the Advancement Administrator and closely with the Partner Engagement Manager. The coordinator will support a culture of generosity within OurCalling and provide support for all organizational fund development and communications activities.

Essential Functions:

• Understand and communicate the mission, programs, distinctives, and impact of OurCalling with both current and prospective donors.
• Engage a portfolio of approximately 500 mid-level donors to OurCalling, who make annual gifts between 1,000 and $5,000.
• Follow an engagement and stewardship process for mid-level donors, including email, phone, and thank you notes to ensure they receive the appreciation and communication that makes giving a fulfilling experience.
• Cultivate relationships with current mid-level donors to OurCalling to understand their mission interests, needs, and capacity to grow their giving. Identify donors who should be engaged more personally in a smaller, major giving portfolio.
• Host individuals and small groups for tours and stewardship events at OurCalling’s Outreach Center. Partner closely with the Partner Engagement Manager and the Volunteer Engagement Manager for on-site groups and events that involve donors.
• Conduct engagement and stewardship steps of volunteer-to-donor and in-kind-to-donor journeys /workflows (phone, email, notes, etc).
• Manage in-kind resource drives for the Advancement team (church, business, and individual donors), maintaining close communication with the Resource Coordinator to update a list of most needed items and ensure that resource drives meet the needs of the ministry.
• Work effectively with the Advancement team on donor strategy and communications to ensure alignment.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience, ideally in a nonprofit.
• Ideal experience includes administrative, customer service, or donor relations.
• Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences.
• Able to follow a process and stay on top of a task list.
• Glass half-full, see the opportunity rather than the obstacle.
• Articulate with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to inspire trust and engage and motivate people from all backgrounds.
• Comfortable sharing needs and asking people to support OurCalling.
