Francis Marion University and the Graduate Nursing Program invite applications for master’s or doctorate-prepared part-time clinical Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner instructors for the Fall 2024 semester (August to December 2024).

Qualifications:

1. Earned MSN or DNP with specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
2. Two years (full time) clinical experience
3. Licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in South Carolina
4. Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring

Responsibilities: Provides clinical practice and Typhon oversight for eight (8) post-master certificate-, master’s-or doctoral-level psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner students. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Participate in course orientation with course coordinator.
• Maintain CastleBranch records throughout duration of employment: Submit all needed paperwork, criminal background check, drug screen, vaccination records, etc.
• Read the graduate student handbook, graduate preceptor handbook, and PMHNP clinical guidelines and refer to resources as needed.
• Review student Typhon entries weekly and provide educational feedback to students per course syllabus, PMHNP clinical guidelines, and course coordinator instructions.
• Maintain contact with preceptors throughout the semester.
• Communicate with the student and course coordinator if there are concerns about the student’s Typhon entries, clinical progression, clinical site, and/or preceptor.
• Report clinical warnings to the course coordinator for processing.
• Participate in on-campus OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Exams: performance-based testing used to measure student’s clinical performance) day.
• Provide summative evaluation of the student, preceptor, and clinical site via Typhon.
• Participate in the course evaluation by providing course feedback requested by Course Coordinator.
• Participate in clinical instructor annual evaluation with Course Coordinator and Program Director/Coordinator.

Start Date: August 15, 2024
