Friendship Home is Hiring a Development Systems Manager Near Norwell, MA

Friendship Home is seeking a Development Systems Manager to join our dynamic development team. The Manager will oversee the donor database, data entry and gift processing, acknowledgements, report and list generation, direct response program, prospect research, and other essential development support tasks. The ideal candidate will be an organized, detail-oriented, self-starter with excellent computer skills and experience working in a nonprofit fundraising department. You must be a team player, a strong collaborator and communicator, and be eager to partner with colleagues in advancing the mission of Friendship Home.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Donor and Prospect Engagement and Stewardship

  • Partner with the Director of Development in designing and building a robust direct response program; manage all logistics of implementation.
  • Manage a comprehensive donor stewardship plan for donors at all levels; assist colleagues in the personal stewardship of Friendship Home’s most generous supporters.
  • Systematize and manage the acknowledgment process, including writing and mailing donor acknowledgement letters in a timely manner.
  • Prepare meeting materials, including financial reports, presentation decks, donor profiles, and other relevant documents, as needed.

Donor Database Management

  • Develop and maintain the information and records management operations, ensuring high standards for data integrity and compliance.
  • Record and process all gifts and donor information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Support direct response and engagement programs, including the preparation of lists for all mailings, emails, invitations, and other communications.
  • Design and produce analytical reports to measure achievement, activity, and projections to inform decision making and strategy.
  • Serve as liaison with the software vendor, participate in training sessions, and install new features and upgrades.
  • Generate forms for fundraising initiatives, such as events and appeals.
  • Regularly reconcile with Finance and prepare information for year-end audit.
  • Play a key role in transitioning to a new organization-wide CRM.

Event Support

  • Assist with event and meeting logistics, as needed.
  • Generate event reports.
  • Transfer information from event platforms to the donor database.

Donor Research

  • Conduct in-depth research on prospective donors to identify potential major gift donors, event sponsors, and corporate and foundation support.
  • Provide detailed profiles on donors to help the team tailor individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.

Administrative Support

  • Document and maintain policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective department-wide operations.
  • Assist with general office administrative tasks, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 years of experience in a nonprofit fundraising department.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency in donor management software and database systems, preferably Donor Perfect and GiveSmart.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and balance competing priorities.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and professionalism in a variety of situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain donor relationships.
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices.
  • Passion for disability rights and advocacy is a plus.
