Job Description
PASA is seeking a Non-exempt temporary Summer Social Worker to support PASA’s STEAM Adventure Camp. Reporting to the Summer Camp Coordinator, the program Social Worker will support program transitions, youth with behavioral and emotional needs, and support PASA staff with family engagement. As a free, citywide, summer experience for middle school youth, the AfterZone camp provides approximately 150 youth with access to a wide variety of STEAM programs—provided by over 10 community-based organizations—that offer self-driven opportunities for the development of new skills, experiential learning that feels relevant to youth, and prioritizes youth voice and choice.
Responsibilities
· Support the development of youth coping strategies to social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health outcomes
· Maintain collaborative relationships with PASA staff, program providers/partners, school administration, and families to support youth growth
· Assist youth and families by identifying resources, providing information, referral and support
· Consult and collaborate with other PASA personnel in gathering and giving information regarding youth, and in establishing plans for interventions and supports, as needed
· Collaborate with PASA staff and program providers as needed to promote youth success
· Provide individual youth and program-wide crisis intervention, as needed
· Assist PASA staff during program arrival, transitions, and dismissal
· Perform other related duties as assigned by the Summer Site Coordinator and the Director of Middle School Initiatives
Qualifications
· A minimum of 2 years’ supporting urban youth
· Strong writing and communication skills
· Experience working with middle and/or high school youth or in a school setting
· Fluency in Spanish preferred, other languages are welcomed
· Experience with Providence- schools preferred

Remuneration
· Contracts with PASA will be set at a rate of $30-35 per hour.

· Hours: M-F – 10am-4:00pm
