Job description

The Maintenance Technician's is entrusted with the maintenance and janitorial function of two building’s, grounds and cleaning. The role requires effective and careful evaluations in response to a broad range of maintenance needs to assist with the efficient operation of property. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following areas of routine, preventative and emergency maintenance:

• Performs any and all custodial cleaning duties as may be assigned for two buildings

• Sweeps, mops, and waxes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets and rugs

• Washes, scrubs, and disinfects restrooms

• Stocks restroom supplies (e.g. paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring adequate quantities for daily use

• Sets up and dismantles chairs and tables for various school events

• Replaces light bulbs and other lighting fixtures

• Appliance Repairs

• Locks and Keys

• May perform in extensive clean-up projects during summer months

• Janitorial, Grounds and Snow Removal

• Painting and Drywall Repair

• Basic Carpentry

• Maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the building common areas and other assigned areas

• Maintains exterior grounds according to company standards

• Perform other related tasks as assume other related responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor

Requirements of the Position:

• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal in english

• Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter

• Excellent customer service skills a must

• Prior experience in a facilities maintenance field

• Reliable vehicle needed to perform essential duties of the position

• Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds and on occasion be able to lift 50 – 100 pounds

• Ability to grasp and maintain control of equipment, pushing, pulling, twisting at the waist, bending, climbing and balancing.

• Knowledge of the proper use of all custodial cleaning equipments, including the proper use of chemicals solutions

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/equivalent

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions

• Previous experience in school district maintenance handling necessary repairs and maintenance

Job Type: Full-time- 12 month employment
