Duties and Responsibilities

Tweetsie Railroad’s Town Manager must be a dependable, responsible, team-oriented individual with high energy and a passion for delivering the highest level of customer service to all guests. This person must be willing to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced environment. Tweetsie Railroad is open roughly 130 operating days and would be required to be available those days and the position requires weekend and holiday availability, as well as some nights.

The Town Manager has the responsibility of overseeing all the park’s daily operations. The Town Manager’s functions include administration, working with local police and fire for special events, sanitation, landscaping, water/sewer, electrical, storm water, and planning/construction for new improvements within the park. The ideal candidate will be able to connect and communicate with all levels of the organization and community. The ideal candidate will be a confident leader, able to quickly assess options and offer solutions. The Town Manager will work indoors and outdoors to fulfill administrative duties and engage with staff and customers. The Town Manager should demonstrate the additional skills:

• Ability to effectively plan, supervise and coordinate the daily operations, personnel, and functions of a municipal operation within Tweetsie Railroad;
• ability to develop and implement municipal policies and procedures;
• ability to review and analyze current policies, practices, and procedures, identifying problem areas or necessary changes;
• ability to prepare and present comprehensive oral and written reports;
• ability to deal courteously with the guest;
• ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads, outside agencies, and the general public.

Qualifications Desired

Bachelor’s degree required in either tourism, hospitality, marketing or business and a minimum of 5 years working experience in a Town Manager role.
