Land IQ is Hiring an Agricultural Field Technician Near Kern County, CA

Land IQ, LLC is seeking a Crop or Agricultural Field Technician based out of the Bakersfield, California area to assist with
our agricultural science field data collection and evapotranspiration (ET) programs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with our ET and agronomic teams to provide field support for
maintaining equipment used to quantify ET rates for a variety agricultural crops and fallow systems. Land IQ employees
will work collaboratively with this individual to train them on all work elements, but a basic knowledge of field data
collection, field based experimental design and construction, and/or instrument maintenance and monitoring is a plus.

This is an environmental consulting position that requires the ability to work independently on maintaining,
troubleshooting, and fixing field equipment in agricultural settings. The applicant must have strong communication
skills, able to follow instructions and report observations, readily work in a team environment, understands agricultural
systems, elementary knowledge of electronic equipment (i.e., multimeters, dataloggers, solar power systems, etc.) and
use efficient work approaches. The position will involve traveling to field sites, implementing instructions, and
communicating with team members. Working with GIS products, efficient data management, and some spatial
interpretation of remotely sensed imagery may be required on occasion.

Position Location: Kern County

Hiring Timeframe: Immediate

Employment Type: Part time, with the potential to become a Full time position

Transportation: Position includes a work truck

Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience

Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain and troubleshoot meteorological and soil field equipment

Work with Land IQ ET Team on monthly station builds, dismantles and relocations

Take detailed notes and communicate with Land IQ ET Team members

Required Qualifications:

Working towards or has a BS degree in Crops/Soils or related Natural Resources field

Valid CA driver’s license

Can climb scaffolding with safety harness up to 45 feet

Ability to travel and work flexible hours

Excellent written and oral communication skills, responsive, collaborative, and the ability to take directions

Can work independently as well as in a team setting

Basic computer skills including MS Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure to native and/or agricultural land-based sciences

Experience with meteorological and soil instrumentation and datalogging

Basic electrical/instrument knowledge

Basic mechanical and construction skills

Experience with soil, plant, and water processes

Basic understanding of geospatial analysis and data management
