LEAD WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

Service Metal is a rapidly growing, nationwide Master Distributor of industrial pipe fittings, valves, and flanges. We are hiring a Lead Warehouse Associate to join our growing company and be an integral part of developing our Warehouse in Houston.

This is for the 2nd Shift Operations.

JOB SUMMARY:

This is a full-time, hourly position, with daily attendance required at our Houston Warehouse. This is for 2nd shift, and comes with a premium, which is an additional $1.50 an hour added to the base hourly wage.

The Lead Warehouse Associate directly monitors the daily operations of the warehouse while servicing internal and external customers.

Duties:

• Assist the Warehouse Manager by providing "on-the-floor" leadership and direction to Warehouse Associates.
• Work along with the Logistics Coordinator and Manager to create picklists for order pickers utilizing Produmex WMS.
• Daily collaboration with Shipping/Receiving Lead to ensure Warehouse Associates are allocated to maintain shipping and receiving service levels.
• Effectively communicates issues or concerns to the Warehouse Manager.
• Ensure warehouse associates are properly trained and follow standard operating procedures for accuracy in warehouse transactions.
• Retrieves inventory by locating and verifying materials, stacking and securing materials on pallets.
• Loading pallets and boxes for shipment.
• Stocks inventory with great attention to detail.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Uses Forklifts to accomplish many of the above goals. Forklift training will be provided if needed.
• May be called upon for other duties as needed.

• Willing to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Skills:

• 2 years of Lead experience
• 2 years of RF and barcode scanner experience (ERP software, WMS software, TMS software)
• 2 years of forklift experience
• Knowledge of Pipe fittings, Valves and Flanges (PVF)
