Packaging Technician

Summary of Position Duties:

● Assist in the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of the bottling line on packing days
● Work a variety of positions on the packaging line throughout the day.
● Ensure that product being handled at your particular station meets standards of quality (caps fastened, liquid level appropriate, labels level, boxes secure)
● Fill and clean kegs when needed
● Daily cleaning and set-up following Good Manufacturing Practices
● Perform case flavor mixing as needed
● Thorough deep cleaning or special projects may be deemed necessary on an as needed basis

Required Skills/Abilities:
● Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred but not required
● Keen attention to detail
● Heightened awareness of safety precautions and hazards for self and others
● Ability to work with a team to achieve production goals
● Positive and team oriented attitude
● Ability to put in occasional 10hr shifts

Education and Experience:
● High school diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements:

Production: Space can be crowded with manufacturing equipment. Must remain aware of forklift traffic.
Noisy; some areas can be dusty. May encounter extremes in temperature. Requires standing, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, or lifting 100% of the time, occasionally walking on uneven, slippery surfaces.
Duties may include lifting and maneuvering heavy equipment and/or parts. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly (solo) and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance.

Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities:
● Follow GMP policy when in production facility
● Aware of SQF policies relating to pest control, visitors, allergen management, and cleaning and sanitation
● Is aware of Management's Commitment to SQF and will work towards Food Safety and Quality and help the company meet this commitment
● If there is a problem that involves food quality and safety, it is reported to Packaging Manager so that the CAPA log may be filled out, the situation be investigated, and resolved with the goal of continual improvement of food quality and safety
