Shipyard POA is Hiring a Maintenance Technician Near Hilton Head Island, SC

Job Overview:
Shipyard POA is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for providing a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled general maintenance tasks.

*Schedule- 35 Hours Weekly (Flexible on shift time to accommodated the right person)

  • Days: Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performing routine maintenance such as repairing broken windows, painting, and making repairs.
  • Responding to all maintenance requests.
  • Ensuring the facility is cleaned and maintained as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Observing and monitoring all areas for proper upkeep.
  • Ensuring all maintenance records are kept up to date.
  • Repairs or fixes electrical, mechanical, or other systems and conducts inspections.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of supplies.
  • Keeps equipment in good condition by performing regular checks and adjustments; cleaning; and lubrication.
  • Inspects equipment for defects and damages and report them immediately.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties such as light housekeeping, painting, cleaning out common areas, etc. to ensure the facility is clean and maintained.
  • Ability to operate power tools such as pressure washers, saws, drills, paint sprayers, nail guns, etc.
  • Assist in scheduled and seasonal preventative maintenance.
  • Respond to all emergencies and alarms when on duty or in an on-call status.
  • Mailbox replacement and repair
  • Aide with debris assessment for major storms
  • Maintain supply order/request process
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Must be capable of maintaining high confidentiality standards at all times.
  • Basic knowledge of trades to understand repair problems and make minor repairs on outlets, light fixtures, and plumbing fixtures.
  • General technical knowledge and use of power tools.
  • Ability to paint and patch drywall surfaces.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to give clear and concise information.
  • Must be detailed oriented, punctual, reliable, and dependable
  • Strong time management skills and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
  • Must be able to keep POA forms, documents, or other materials completely confidential at all times.
  • Professional appearance is mandatory.
  • Honesty and dependability.
  • Has a reliable vehicle with a valid driver’s license

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • The Maintenance Technician must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Post-secondary vocational/technical training in electrical, mechanical, or carpentry is desirable.
  • Two years of maintenance experience in an institutional or business setting is preferred.
  • Must complete a 90-day probationary period as outlined in the SPOA Employee Manual and exhibit the ability to meet any goals/objectives set by management.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
