Job description

Residential Support Staff play a vital role in Bridgemark's men's residential substance abuse treatment program, providing essential support to clients and ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities within the facility. This position involves following policies and procedures of the residential program, implementing instructions from the operations coordinator, maintaining communication with clinical staff, managing documentation, and upholding the facility's standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute specific instructions received from the operations coordinator promptly and efficiently.
• Collaborate regularly with clinical staff and supervisors to discuss client behaviors and issues, contributing to the enhancement of treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate written records of events occurring during shifts, including medication administration, breathalyzer tests, and urine samples.
• Handle incoming telephone calls professionally and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
• Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the facility, adhering to Bridgemark's regulations and standards.
• Resolve conflicts or differences among clients aligned with Bridgemark's rules and philosophy, prioritizing individual rights.
• Perform filing and other office duties as needed to support administrative functions.
• Provide compassionate support and lend a listening ear to clients experiencing personal distress.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the Operations Coordinator.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Attend clinical supervision and staff meetings.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and serve as a role model for all residents.
• Conduct urine and breathalyzer screenings for clients, documenting results accurately.
• Prepare written reports on client status and progress for external systems as required.
• Log detailed shift reports, documenting any incidents or situations that arise during shifts.
• Administer medications to residents as prescribed, following Bridgemark's policies and procedures rigorously.

Qualifications:

• Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
• Evidence of at least two years of freedom from substance abuse, if in recovery.
• Familiarity with the operations of a residential mid-stage treatment program for substance use disorder, or equivalent understanding through education or training.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle emergencies effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
• Commitment to upholding Bridgemark's values and principles.
