Job Summary:
Paint Department Lead is responsible for maximizing departmental sales and profitability, along with minimizing expenses. They also ensure that their department is optimally stocked and merchandised and that customer service is always the #1 focus. Paint Department Lead also contributes to the growth and development of their department and the training of other store associates. Paint Department Lead should have in-depth knowledge of (or be willing and able to learn about) paint and stain products, tools, and supplies to best support customers. Full time, year round position. Pay commensurate with knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
• Execute the daily operational, and day-to-day goals and priorities.
• Ensure the department is front, faced and the product is fully stocked.
• Ensure department floors, shelves, and overstocks are labeled, clean, and safe.
• Assist in planning for sales and major holiday or promotional events.
• Assist in training and developing store staff in their department.
• Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring that all customers are acknowledged, customer needs are met, and concerns are resolved quickly.
• Maintain paint department equipment.
• Order paint department supplies such as colorants and point-of-purchase materials.
• Organize and inventory all paint department stock.
• Support whole store operations as needed by cashiering, stocking freight, cutting keys, serving customers throughout the store, and other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Ability to provide motivation and leadership to associates storewide.
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
• Able to walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties.
• Move and handle merchandise and fixtures up to 40 pounds repeatedly.
• Strong leadership and analytical skills.

• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
