A Senior Accountant is a crucial role to maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and providing support for various accounting functions within the organization. This position ensures compliance with financial regulations and contributes to the overall financial health and success of the business. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Prepare and post journal entries to record financial transactions.

• Financial Reporting: Primary responsibility for the preparation of monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Maintain income statement per location.

• Management Reporting: Reports and analyses, on both a scheduled and ad hoc basis, for various organizational stakeholders.

• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner. Verify and reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies. Assist in monitoring and managing accounts receivable collections.

• Payroll: Assist Financial Controller in the payroll process.

• Product Inventory: Coordinate with manufacturing affiliate for parts and finished goods inventory maintenance.

• Account Reconciliations: Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of account balances. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues identified during the reconciliation process.

• Expense Management: Review and analyze expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies. Assist in tracking and reconciling employee expense reimbursements. Primary responsibility for Concur system. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to prepare annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets, identify deviations, and provide insightful analysis. Page 2 of 2 2024

• Compliance and Auditing: Assist with internal and external audits, providing support for audit inquiries and document preparation. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles, standards, and federal, state and local regulations.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, improving efficiency and accuracy. Propose and implement process enhancements to drive productivity and effectiveness.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing, administration and operations, to gather necessary financial data and ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.

• Supervision: Oversight and direct supervision of Accounting Assistant/Staff Accountant

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

• Solid problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.

• Ability to work in a multi-company environment.

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine and computer printer.

• Ability to travel occasionally by car or commercial flight.
