Cal Farley Boys Ranch is Hiring a Clinical Intervention Specialist Near Boys Ranch, TX
Responsible for providing individual clinical services and appropriate assessments, i.e. mental health assessments, suicide assessments, and risk assessments for Boys Ranch residents utilizing a strength based approach as part of the service delivery package within Youth Programs. Facilitates and/or co-facilitates therapeutic and/or psycho-educational groups, assists with the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy programs, provides clinical services and support for the Adventure Programs and other experiential learning activities while coordinating these services with other campus programs to ensure continuity of care. Acts as clinical consultant for child care teams; underscoring, and supporting efforts of direct care staff in the home. RequirementsJOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Exhibits regular and punctual attendance
Acts as a clinical consultant for assigned child care teams. Provides psychoeducation aligned with our model, vision, our approach and all licensing regulations and standards. Makes recommendations regarding appropriate interventions, provides additional support as needed
Assists in the design, implementation and evaluation of Boys Ranch clinical interventions for identified residents in accordance with appropriate therapeutic practices
Make clinical diagnoses when necessary in order to provide appropriate treatment recommendations including, but not limited to, interventions, psychotropic medication management and goal setting
Provides training to Boys Ranch staff related to clinical issues and challenges affecting kids in residential care
Collaborates with Boys Ranch staff to assess and refer residents for external contract services, medication reviews and POS design
Attends and participates in weekly team meetings for assigned clients
Attends and participates in Intensive Team Meetings and assists in developing team-centered approaches for residents who are struggling
Assists in the design, facilitation and evaluation of therapeutic group processes
Assists in the implementation and operation of the childcare program in accordance with the Cal Farley's Model of Leadership and Service
Provides crisis intervention for residents to include the use of approved verbal and physical intervention techniques and appropriate assessments regarding specific incidents of abuse or potential abuse involving residents
When appropriate, attends and participates in assigned Youth Activity Programs on and off campus, lending clinical support for residents and staff involved in these services
When appropriate, assists in the design, implementation, and evaluation of Equine programs
Assists in the coordination and facilitation of the "transfer of learning" as it relates to significant clinical issues affecting a child's milieu
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
A Master's degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Child Psychology, Counseling, Human Services Administration or related field is required
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment, a license from the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners, Texas State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Texas State Board of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Texas State Board of Psychologists or similar licensure
Experience in equine and/or other experiential therapies is preferred
Basic competency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.) is required
Must be proficient in general office equipment operation
Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills
Must be at least 21 years of age
