Our Assistant Manager works with the General Manager to oversee staff and operations. The ideal candidate would have:

  • 2 years of direct experience in the animal care industry
  • A comprehensive understanding of customer service best practices
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • 1 years of direct experience managing a dog day care/boarding operation, a restaurant, hotel front of house, or other high customer service-driven business operation
  • Outstanding decision-making skills and the ability to mitigate risk through those decisions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain service level, multi-task and manage customer requests during the morning and afternoon rush

Responsibilities

  • Assist General Manager to oversee day-to-day Front Desk and Back of House operations
  • Ensure all staff follow health, safety, & sanitation procedures
  • Perform regular inventory of supplies, cleaning solutions, tools, etc.
  • Meet goals for service, operations, and financial results
  • Perform exceptional front-line customer service
  • Communicate with and motivate staff in a positive, constructive way

Customer Service:

  • Work with all customers and team members to ensure our customer experience sets the highest standards of care and satisfaction
  • Maintain a neat and organized front desk and retail area at all times. This includes holding a team to professional clean dress.
  • Lead by example with friendly, helpful customer service
  • Manage customer concerns with diplomacy and professionalism
  • Hold the team accountable to internal and external customer service standard
  • Keep the team members engaged in their duties

Financial Administrative:

  • Manage groomers including quality control of work, safety, schedules, and client records
  • Utilize training opportunities for the team such as dog injuries, billing issues, or customer complaints
  • Maintain controllable expenses within budgetary constraints including forecasting, tracking and ordering supplies, minimizing payroll, and actively looking for new ways to maximize efficiency
  • Communicate any concerns or needs to General Manager proactively after attempting to resolve issues
  • Work with team to assure our care quality sets the standards for dog care

Team Management:

  • Assist General manager with staffing schedule and helps monitor daily schedules
  • Maintain optimum staffing and development with all employees

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
