Job Description

Job Summary: maintain the Company’s Product Data base by accurately performing detailed oriented data entry into the Company’s centralized pricing system and assist with the Safeguard of the overall Company’s gross profit margin. To also help Ensure 100% price integrity at store level POS system and providing the LMMM stores exceptional customer service by resolving pricing discrepancies’, addressing inquiries and maintaining open lines of communication via e- mail, fax, and telephone.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains the Company’s Product Data Base Up To Date And Ensures Pricing
Integrity at Store Level by Updating:

  • Regular Price Changes- Updating the database by manually entering accurate cost and retail information in accordance with vendor price lists. Price Changes may also be executed by electronically uploading a spreadsheet into the system. Both options require of an effective date for changes to take effect at the store’s POS system and trigger the Store’s Admin to generate labels when required. Labels are printed at store level.
  • TPR’s “Temporary Price Reductions”- TPR’s are entered in the system through a manual process, one by one or can be electronically uploaded by preparing a spreadsheet formatted for TPR’s. TPR’s are date driven and can be of any time length.
  • In Store TPR’s- Entering an item at a lower retail requested by an individual store.

In-Store TPR’s are programmed in the system ONLY for the store that made such a request.

  • Ad Prices-Applying promotional pricing on the items that participate on the advertised on the bi-weekly Specials. As well as any other promotion that may require it.
  • Performs Checks and Balances by generating a Price Change Report to double check their pricing entries that were made in the system for a specific date. This is done to ensure accuracy.
  • Adds New Vendors as well as Delete obsolete Vendors

  • New Item- Enter pre-approved new product information submitted by Vendors and approved by New Item committee.
  • Discontinued Items- Changing the status of a Discontinued Item from active to

DELETE and removing it from the authorized vendors.

  • WIC-Review the State Website for price updates, and applying changes to Andrea if necessary.
  • Grocery Supply- Update Grocery Supply Price Book by using Cipher gun.

2. Provides Exceptional Customer Service To The Store and Vendors:

  • Provides support to the stores with pricing related matters.
  • Answers - general calls on Land Lines/Company Assigned Cell Phones/E- mails/Fax- to assist with:

6. Problems with meat and register scales
7. WIC pricing questions

  • Works on Bad Scan Report- Stores utilizes the Bad Scan Reports to submit various pricing issues found at store level. These issues are resolved by researching and identifying the problem with the item in question and taking the appropriate actions to make necessary corrections. Once the issues have been resolved on a

Bad Scan Report, the store is notified of the findings via e-mail. There is a 48 hour turnaround time on Bad Scans.

  • Issue Tracks- For situations that require IT assistance, we generate and follow up with an electronic Issue Track System.
  • Assists Vendors with any pricing question that they may call on in reference to their products.
  • Works Weekends and Holidays to Provide Department Coverage and Support to the stores needs- This is an alternated function.

3. Communicates extensively with a wide variety of audiences internal and external to the

Company:

  • Sends communication to the store, via e-mail, on any AD item that may require a

PLU to be assigned for that period.

  • Communicates with members of the IT Department on issues that may require their collaboration.
  • Communicates with the Excel Buyers to obtain product information and/or verification on pricing issues that may arise.
  • Communicates with the DSD Vendors to obtain product information and/or verification on pricing issues that may arise.

  • Communicates with the Marketing Team on AD items that may need clarification and/or verification.
  • Communicates with the stores on any item reported on a Bad Scan that may require additional information.
  • Communicates with Department Directors to obtain approval of New Items and/or

New Vendors. When applicable

  • Communicates with Management and Department members on outstanding issues and to ensure deadlines are met
  • Assists in Department Functions and work longer hours if needed to meet deadlines on special projects.
  • Assists in the training and development of a new team member if needed.
  • Expected to give feedback on Department related issues to improve day to day functions and team development.

4. Other Department Functions:

  • Generates Product Movement Reports - Upon Request
  • Generates Product Reports by Vendor, Zone or Department – Upon Request
  • Provides Support for Special Projects
  • Performs System maintenance cleanup by updating product’s pack, hierarchy, size, information.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Personal Characteristics:

  • Retail Background Experience.
  • Data Entry Experience
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English). Read, write, and speak fluently.
  • Team oriented, great interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Work proficiently with minimal supervision and contribute positive and feedback and ideas for efficiency
  • Ability to work in an office environment.
  • Time Management
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in the retail industry.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English). Read, write, and speak fluently.
  • Abel to work flexible schedules, including holidays and weekends.
