We are dedicated to providing the highest quality equipment and service to our customers. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team at KWS Manufacturing.

The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of a public company manufacturing division. You will be responsible for various accounting tasks, financial reporting, and SOX compliance activities to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations. This position will be a key part of the successful implementation and optimization of a new ERP system.

As the Assistant Controller, you will have the opportunity to work directly with division top management on process improvement and meeting goals of financial excellence and will have exposure to corporate finance.

Responsibilities:

Financial Statements

Oversee the General Ledger, assist in accounting period close and review procedures, and reporting of financial statements.

Forecasting

Manage the budgeting and forecasting process for the business unit, including variance analysis and reporting.

Audits

Coordinate and facilitate audits, including liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.

SOX Control Environment

Develop and maintain an effective SOX internal control environment to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and safeguard company assets.

Own the System

Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements for the ERP system implementation, deliver end-user training, and evaluate performance post-implementation.

Profit / Growth

Provide strategic financial guidance to business unit leaders, including identifying areas for manufacturing cost optimization and strategies for revenue growth.

KPI’s

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business unit performance and identify areas for improvement.

Provide guidance and support to accounting staff, including training and mentoring.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.

5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls. Prior SOX experience is highly preferred.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.

Proficiency in Excel and other data analytics tools.

Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of Sage, Oracle HFM, or Epicore is a plus.

Proactive attitude with a demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.
