Miami Children Museum is Hiring an Afterschool Site Coordinator - Brownsville Near Miami, FL

Miami Children's Museum is looking for a new Afterschool Site Coordinator to join their team! This position will be reporting to Earlington Heights Elementary school.

The Afterschool Site Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day responsibility for operations of the afterschool program.

Essential Functions:

1) Monitors daily program activities, with special attention to safety, developmental appropriateness, and educational effectiveness.

2) Develops educational and recreational activities for the program.

3) Observes, assists and coaches instructional staff. Makes recommendations for and be present at out-of-school staff trainings.

4) Assists instructional staff with behavior management challenges.

5) Ensures completion and collection of student evaluations as scheduled evaluations. Scores and reviews the data collected for accuracy.

6) Utilizes internal and external data to the benefit of the students and the program.

7) Communicates with supervisor to discuss issues that need resolution, including those involving individual students or their caregivers, classroom spaces, or program museum, or school staff.

8) Communicates with parents in a positive manner to discuss achievements and challenges.

9) Maintains and establishes a good rapport with site staff, school administration, families and supervisors.

10) Maintains confidentiality of any parent/student information gathered during the program.

11) Responsible for child recruitment, registration and retention in the program.

12) Oversees fidelity of curriculum and its’ implementation.

13) Plans and executes Family Engagement Events.

14) Ensures compliance with the requirements set forth by The Miami Children’s Museum, The Children’s Trust and the Department of Children and Families.

16) Complies with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience developing educational activities.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Sound verbal and writing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must pass a Level 2 background screening (fingerprints) and drug test.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certified

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
