Director, Patient Business Services
Director, Patient Business Services, is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of patient access services and business operations within Retina Associates, a physician-owned surgical specialty practice group. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient access services, including scheduling, registration, financial counseling, and customer service, while also optimizing business operations to improve efficiency and financial performance. This role leads a team of professionals, executes strategic initiatives, and collaborates with various departments to enhance the overall patient experience and operational effectiveness. Exceptional attention to detail as relates to physician and patient scheduling is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
· Provide leadership and direction to the Patient Access and Business Operations team.
· Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective operations.
· Mentor, coach, and develop staff to achieve their highest potential and meet organizational goals.
Patient Access Services
· Oversee patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling functions.
· Ensure accurate and timely collection of patient information and verification of insurance coverage.
· Develop and implement strategies to improve patient access and satisfaction.
Business Operations
· Manage business operations, including revenue cycle management, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
· Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to achieve operational and financial goals.
· Collaborate with finance, clinical, and administrative teams to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Quality Assurance
· Implement quality assurance programs to monitor and improve patient access and business operations.
· Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Qualifications
· Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) (highly preferred), or
· Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) (highly preferred), or
· Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE) (highly preferred), or
· Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA) (highly preferred), or
· Certified Ophthalmic Executive (COE) (highly preferred).
Equivalent combinations of education, credentials, and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
