Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for efficient and effective operation of the warehouse and is charged with assigning tasks to, coordinating with and developing warehouse associates to ensure successful operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Receiving material via transfer truck from our other warehouses
• Receiving material (TL and LTL) from our suppliers
• Picking, checking and loading material for outbound delivery
• Coordinating shipments and deliveries
• Investigating any material that is left on the docks or misplaced throughout the facility
• Providing a high level of customer service to all internal and external personnel
• Processing and packaging eCommerce orders for outbound delivery
• Learning the industry, products and processes to improve our competitive advantage
• Determining work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow
• Managing warehouse space, inventory and storage with prescribed warehousing strategies
• Issuing written and oral instructions
• Assigning duties and examining work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
• Studying and standardizing procedures to improve efficiency of workers
• Maintaining harmony among workers and resolving grievances
• Interviewing and recommending the hiring of new employees for warehouse or driving positions
• Conferring with staff in other departments to ensure coordination of other warehouse activities
• Conferring with staff at branches to ensure coordination of other functions such as delivery, inventory management and quality assurance
• Ensuring correct shipment of orders
• Identifying employees’ skills and developing them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis
• Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High school diploma, GED certificate, or demonstration of sufficient reading and math skills to read manuals and prepare computer reports as required
• Previous management experience preferred
• Strong communication skills in order to train and motivate employees
• Strong time management skills and attention to deal with a variety of duties and prepare reports according to schedule
• An eagerness to learn and excel with a perpetually positive attitude
• The ability to lead, inspire and maximize the potential of a group of individuals
• The foresight to forecast our labor requirements and to work with the branch manager to have the warehouse appropriately staffed
• The ability to work well independently and within a team environment
• Possess a detail-oriented task-driven mindset to distinguish how to improve our warehouse operations over time through use of existing systems and further developments
• A willingness to adapt quickly and frequently to our growing organization
• Punctuality, reliability and a relentless dedication to expressive communication
• Aptitude to frequently lift, move and reposition tires of varying dimensions
• Driving skills to safely operate lift trucks, pick-up trucks, vans, and box trucks
• Capable of handling more responsibility over time and cross-training into other positions and/or adjusting to the needs of our business daily, hourly, or otherwise
• Must have a clean criminal and driving background, and be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test to apply

The work is both physically and mentally demanding. This incumbent is expected to be on their feet much of the time. Managers must work well under pressure and exercise tact and patience when dealing with employees and customers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific sensory abilities required by this job include sight, smell, and hearing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to warehouse equipment and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. The warehouse is not temperature controlled.

Compensation roughly $40,000 dependent on experience.
