POSITION: Extended School Year (ESY) Teacher for Summer 2024
PAY RATE: $52/hr.ESY Special education teacher positions are available to work in-person with students to teach, implement, and monitor the progress of student IEP goals and services noted in their ESY section of the IEP.
NOTE: Teaching staff require a special education teaching certificate.
What are Extended School Year (ESY) services?ESY services are special education and related services that are provided to students with disabilities beyond the 180-day school year. In some cases, interruptions in the school schedule, such as summer break, may result in some students with disabilities regressing on specific skills and taking a much longer time to regain those skills than their peers without disabilities once school is back in session. ESY services are provided during breaks in the educational schedule to prevent this.
ESY Schedule For Summer 2024Monday - Thursday on the following dates and times:

• 6/24/24 - 8/1/24 (23 days of instruction) - FRIDAYS CLOSED
• 7/8/24 - 8/1/24 (16 days of instruction) - FRIDAYS CLOSED
• NOTE: 6 week programs will be full day; and
• 4 week program will be half day.
• *No Class on 7/4/24*

• 4 Week Program - 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

• 6 Week - 9:30 am - 2:30 pm
• 4 Week - 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Secondary (Gr. 7 - Post 12) - Location: North Penn High School

• Secondary Staff Hours:
• 6 Week Program - 7:30 am - 1:30 pm
• 4 Week Program - 7:30 am - 11:30 am
• Student Hours - 8:00 am -1:30 pm
• 6 Week Program - 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
• 4 Week Program - 8:00 am - 11:00 am

Staff Prep Days

• June 19 and June 20 - If ESY teachers are teaching the 6/24/24 - 8/1/24 classes.
• June 19 is Training day, All teachers are encouraged to come, but there will be recorded sessions for those who may not be available.
• Two (2) days of your choosing PRIOR to 7/8 (except on Fridays) after communicating with the respective special education supervisor - If teaching the 7/8/24 - 8/1/24 classes
• Plus seven (7) Hours for Clean-up and Progress Monitoring outside of the ESY day for teaching staff only.
