Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and flexible classroom substitute to join our team. As a Substitute, you will have the opportunity to work in various UCP Charter Schools. This position offers a great opportunity to gain experience working with children and contribute to their educational development.

$14-$15/hour or if you are a certified teacher - $200/day.

1. Perform classroom staff member duties in their absence.

2. Follow direction of the teacher/acting teacher including following lesson plans to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.

3. Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.

4. Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each student.

5. Supervise students in and out of the classroom including in the halls, on the playground, cafeteria and car line.

6. Implement individual behavior plans as needed.

7. Ensure and provide basic care giving duties (utilizing universal health and safety precautions) for children, including, but not limited to changing diapers, feeding children, and cleaning children’s hands, faces, etc.

8. Assist in communication with therapists and members of the multi-disciplinary team.

9. Maintain positive staff and parent interactions.

10. Ensure compliance with requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.

11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Experience working with children in a classroom or educational setting
- Knowledge of various subjects, including math and preschool curriculum development
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work well under pressure
- A passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
