Riverstone is seeking a qualified individual for a Residential Boarding Parent position from for the 2024-25 school year. The Director of Residential Life, and three full-time Boarding Parents will create a safe and nurturing home environment for the school’s 32 residential students in grades 9-12, ensuring a safe and positive experience for residential students that aligns with the school’s mission and guiding principles. While Riverstone is located on the eastern edge of Boise in a beautiful residential area, the school’s residential facility built in 2016, “Riverstone House,” is located in Boise’s vibrant downtown, providing a unique experience for students and the residential team. A successful candidate will have experience in a boarding or summer program with students in Gr 9-12 and a calm and friendly demeanor. Fluency with a second language and international experience is a plus. Qualified applicants should submit a Riverstone application with a cover letter and resume to careers@riverstoneschool.org with "Boarding Parent" identified in the subject line.

Primary Responsibilities Of The Boarding ParentGeneral
- Document student progress in areas focusing on residential student life. Help address
- Create a welcoming, supportive, and respectful living environment for all students

- Take student rollcall at a designated time each evening and follow up on any missing

- Ensure students keep noise to a minimum.
- Be a supportive presence and act as a point of contact for any concerns, illnesses, or

- Respond appropriately to emergencies or issue and follow up with the Boarding

Required Skills
- Experience working in a residential position with relevant age group.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a 12-passenger van.
- Able to establish calm discipline.
- Confident with students; able to establish rapport and assert authority when needed
- A positive outlook, sense of humor and ability to stay calm in crisis.
- Good listener and communicator.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasional basis.
- Mobility sufficient to move about the dorm.
