Pay rate: $17.60-$24/hour (based on experience)

This position is part-time. A flexible schedule to include mornings and mid-day desirable.

Our lifeguards ensure the pools and surrounding deck areas are safe and respond to emergencies that may occur. They create a welcoming atmosphere for all individuals and promote safety amongst users.

Successful candidates for this position possess the following skills-

  • Strong sense of responsibility and focus.
  • Supportive of diversity and inclusion in all interactions.
  • Confident communication.
  • Ability to stay calm and act quickly in emergency situations.
  • Maintain certification level physical and mental readiness.

Minimum Qualifications-

  • Minimum 15 years of age.
  • Required certification-American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard Certificate, American Red Cross First Aid for the Public Safety Personnel (Title 22), and American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certificate.
  • Fingerprint clearance from both Department of Justice (DOJ) & FBI, which includes sex offender screening.

Preferred Qualifications-

  • Significant knowledge of swimming/aquatics.
  • A desire to also teach swim lessons.
  • Language skills in Spanish (.50 cent/hour language differential).
