Position: Math Instructor

Facility: St. Louis Job Corps Center

Location: 4333 Goodfellow Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63120

Rate of pay: $53,747.20 per year

Work schedule: Full-time; Monday – Friday; Days

Position summary: Instructors are responsible for the academic instruction per approved curricula. They will provide training and basic guidance and direction to help students achieve their academic and trade goals.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Develop and preparing lessons that are not only educational, but motivational and integral to assisting their navigation of our world.
  • Cultivate a climate full of positivity and learning while promoting Career Success Standards,
  • Providing academic instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula as well as basic direction in compliance with government and management directives.
  • Develop, prepare, and deliver lessons; use a variety of teaching strategies to meet student learning needs.
  • Recommend an appropriate training program for each assigned student, using background files, personal interviews, tests, and a variety of other assessment tools.

Education and experience requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • A valid teaching certificate in the state of Missouri
  • One year of instructional experience (preferred)
  • Experience working with youth (paid or volunteer)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
