Job Title: Network Administrator Location: Fort Irwin Ca (NTC) Type position: Full Time Pay Type: Salary Clearance Required: Secret Position Availability: contingent upon award. Background: The National Training Center (NTC) conducts tough,
realistic, Multi-Domain Operations (MDO), which are the combined arms
employment of Joint and Army capabilities to create and exploit relative
advantages that achieve objectives, defeat enemy forces, and consolidate gains
on behalf of joint force commanders. Therefore, enabling Army Brigade Combat
teams to learn how to counter and defeat a near-peer adversary capable of
contesting in all domains (Sea, Air, Land, Space, and Cyberspace) to prepare
them and other units for combat. The NTC’s Information Office G6 provides the
communication architecture capabilities required to train in a realistic
contemporary operating environment prior to deployment. Job Requirements • Possess skills, proficiency, and experience in cellular networks to include the software, hardware, and operating systems of a cellular network for NTC. • Be able to provide activation, deactivation, operations, and understanding of end devices that attach to a cellular network, such as cell phones, hotspots, laptops, and wireless cards. Possess skills to monitor and report hardware, software, and network services issues and failures utilizing hardware and software testing tools and techniques for cellular network and cellular end devices. • Must have professional knowledge and experience to include cellular network’s software, hardware, and operating systems of cellular network, including activation of the end devices for IC3NS, operations and understanding of the end devices. • Have a thorough understanding of engineering practices sufficient to replace or repair faulty equipment; channel utilization, retune, and utilization of cellular frequency technologies. • Have the ability to manage and assist with the maintenance of the cellular network, must possess the technical knowledge to solve cellular network and end devices problems. • Be able to perform periodic checks of the IC3NS and end devices; conduct continuous evaluation and analysis of the networks through monitoring system(s) to ensure proper functioning of the system and output of reliable/accurate data. • Be able to provide cellular support to the NTC’s IC3NS which includes twenty (20) fixed sites and three (3) mobile COW’s (Cellular On Wheels). Provide support during NTC’s Training period which includes Reception, Staging, Onward Movement, and Integration (RSOI) and Training Days (TD). • Be able to execute the following tasks: o Checking Network Compatibility
o Registering end device to network.
o Connecting end device to network
o Troubleshooting end user device if there is a connection issue.
o Powering the COW On and Off before and after use.
o Optimizing the COW after the setup of the COW • perform optimization for the cellular network through a drive test of the training area. Optimization shall include the following: o Field measurement optimization
o Call-drop optimization.
o Latency optimization
o Mobility optimization
o Neighboring site optimization Requirements:
 Possess a minimum of 5 years working experience with cellular networks and end devices for cellular networks.
 DOD Secret Security Clearance
 Preferred Active CompTIA Security CE.
 Preferred bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Business, or related field
 Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident.
 Must be able to pass pre-employment and background checks related to the position.
 Valid state driver's license
 Able to read, write and communication in English.
