The Tooling Technician will be responsible for making sure that all tooling and/or components of tooling are maintained to reach plant production rates. Repair, maintain and replace tooling as needed to keep manufacturing running at optimal capacity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & CAPABILITIES:

• Diagnoses malfunctioning tooling, machines and equipment using test equipment, and/or hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and correct the problem.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to clean/lubricate molds and mold components.
• Continually improve the quality of the molds and mold repairs to achieve maximum molding cavitation at superior quality levels.
• Evaluate frames and tooling for continuous improvement.
• Complete monthly tooling PM’s.
• Within the confines of the job, ensure the safe operation of all tooling prior to returning it to manufacturing.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school plus 2 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to communicate in the English language.
• Working knowledge of injection molding or plastics processes, machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical/electrical systems.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
