Peer Support Specialist(NIGHT SHIFT)

Our office seeks an experienced Peer Support Specialist to provide services for our new Clinician Led Community Response Team (CLCR).

Description

The Peer Support Specialist must be able to work as part of a team and collaborate with clients, referral sources, and other community providers—the ability to relate to a diverse population. Previous experience working with individuals who experience emotional disturbance, including but not limited to mental health, substance use, and Indianapolis residents experiencing mental health crises. The program is expanding to operate 24 hours, seven days a week. This position does require night and overnight shifts. This full-time contracted position works 10-hour shifts 3 - days a week.

Responsibilities

• Responding to a mental health crisis with the CLCR therapist.
• Offer one-on-one support during a mental health crisis.
• Participate in a rotation schedule with all other CLCR teams members
• Working knowledge of community resources and programs.
• Provide empathy and a supportive demeanor to identify needs.
• Helping to assist in post-crisis intervention plans
• Refer clients to appropriate resources and treatment
• Follow up with those in crisis to assess the efficacy of the intervention.
• Provide intensive outreach services
• Attends clinical staffing with a supervisor.
• Complete and maintain records in accordance with agency policy.
• Participate in agency meetings and training.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Indiana Professional License/Certificate
• At least two years experience as a peer support specialist.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly compassionate and attentive to detail.
• Knowledge of community resources and programs
• Ability to work as a team

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $55,000.00 - $61,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Night shift
• Overnight shift
• Weekends as needed
