JOB DESCRIPTION:

FULL TIME - Flexible shifts available

Wages - $40-$42/hr

SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Staff Nurse will deliver direct patient care and collaborate with other Medical Team members to deliver quality, comprehensive care to the Harbor of Grace Patient Community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Administers medications, provides treatments and renders care to adult inpatient addiction treatment patients per medical orders daily.

2. Communicates with physicians, nurse practitioners, lab personnel and other medical personnel to coordinate care for Harbor of Grace’s adult inpatient addiction treatment patients. This includes communicating to medical personnel changes and updates within patients’ plans of care.

3. Provides direction and support to patients daily in keeping with the standards and practices of the quality medical care at Harbor of Grace.

4 Assists the Medical Director and Assistant Medical Director with arranging appropriate follow-up medical and psychiatric appointments for discharging patients to ensure proper continuum of care.

7. Accurately documents and records daily patient care, progress, and Nursing Plans of Care both within the EMR and hard copy of patient record.

8. Admits new patients by assessing, orienting and coordinating plan of care for new patients by obtaining medical orders within a timely manner.

9. Maintains lists for patients to be seen by Medical Director or Assistant Medical Director and ensures that appropriate patients are placed on lists via the following: Clinical requests, medical needs,

History and Physical, Psychiatric Consult, Medication adjustments, patient requests or Discharge

Planning.

10. Maintains medication lists and reviews orders daily. Renew prescription orders with pharmacy and retrieves medications daily from pharmacy.

11. Track and maintain medical and nurse’s office supplies including stock medications.

12. Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize required and assigned job duties.

13. Displays functional interpersonal skills with employees and patients by communicating in a clear and direct manner when relaying information and managing tasks, and by assisting in resolving misunderstandings and/or conflicts occurring within the organization.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS:

1. RN – certified in Maryland.

2. Substance Abuse Treatment Facility experience preferred but not required.

3. Ability to apply the concepts of customer service in the workplace. Ability to use good, professional judgment. Detail oriented. Ability to work independently, with minimal direct supervision.

4. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills

5. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines. Ability to meet short and long-term goals and project deadlines.

6. Respect for the confidentiality of all communications required within job duties, including patient/employee records and documents, and electronic transmission by voice, data, and wire.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Current Maryland RN

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly walk, stand or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and regularly drives a motor vehicle.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an office or other environmentally controlled room; Work exposes incumbent to contagious or infectious diseases; Work may expose incumbent to dangerous and volatile situations; which could result in bodily injury.

Pay: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
