Program Overview:MEDI provides before and after school care to Medway elementary and middle school students (grades K-6). We strive to create an environment for kids to learn and grow, positively engage with peers and teachers, explore science, arts, and nature, and simply enjoy playing and being kids.MEDI is fully licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. MEDI teachers create curriculum appropriate to each age group and offer students choices to engage in activities they prefer.Job Summary:The Director is passionate about providing quality out-of-school time programs to school-age children in the Medway community. The Director oversees all aspects of the organization’s operations, including program development, budget development, financial management, and staff supervision. The Director also ensures program compliance with state licensing requirements to operate before and after-school programs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Organization LeadershipProvide regular updates to the Board of Directors regarding the organization’s operations and performance.Work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement policies and procedures that support the organization’s mission and goals.Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in respect to all program matters. Foster and build a professional and safe environment by protecting sensitive information. Program Development and ManagementMaintain Medway Extended Day, Inc.'s highest standards and best practices, ensuring that federal, state, and license requirements and compliance requirements are met across all programs. Develop, coordinate, and implement before- and after-school site program schedules working closely with staff to ensure their effectiveness and engagement with the children. These programs include, but are not limited to, academic enrichment, sports and recreation, visual and performing arts, health/nutrition, technology, and outdoor education.Recruit and enroll Medway families for the before and after school programs.Manage the day-to-day operation of programs, working with staff and volunteers to ensure the programs are executed excellently and have the greatest impact on the organization.Thorough knowledge of Department of Early Education and Care regulations, ensuring the programs are implemented by all EEC regulations and guidelines and maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards. Knowledge and understanding of SACERS standardsEvaluate program outcomes continuously, using data and feedback to make necessary adjustments and improvements.Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including the Medway Public Schools Leadership team, local community organizations, families and businesses.Financial ManagementOversee the organization’s financial management in partnership with the Treasurer and bookkeeper, ensuring the organization is financially sound and operating with financial prudence for long-term sustainability.Develop and oversee the organization’s annual budget, working with the Treasurer and bookkeeper to ensure it aligns with its goals and priorities, and that the organization’s financial policies and procedures comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines.Monitor enrollment numbers and schedule changes, work closely with the bookkeeper to address late payments.Staff DevelopmentResponsible for hiring, training, and supervising a staff of approximately 20-30, ensuring adequate program staffing.Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork and collaboration, and encourage staff members to contribute their unique perspectives and talents.Provide regular feedback to staff members through ongoing coaching and formal performance evaluations to ensure they meet performance expectations and grow in their roles. Develop and implement staff development plans to support team members' ongoing growth and professional development.Model and promote the organization’s values and culture, setting a high standard for ethical and effective behavior in all interactions.The position is classified as an exempt, salaried employee with benefits. Hours are between 40-45 per week, with flexible part time work in the summer. A monthly evening board meeting is required. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
