JOB SUMMARY:
The duties of this job require a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy. Drive, determination and a self-disciplined approach to achieving results that meet these established criteria are necessary for successful job performance. The job environment is structured and job expectations are clear. While the pace of the work is faster than average, quality is never compromised. The focus of communication and organizational relationships is based on technical expertise. The work requires specialized technical problem solving and ingenuity while working within approved organizational systems and technology, and the demonstration of the values of integrity, quality and caution. New ideas and concepts are also important but will be carefully analyzed and tested before communication and adoption. It is expected that coaching and training support for achieving effective delegation will be required. The position encompasses a defined span of control and opportunity for someone who engenders trust, demonstrates initiative and assures consistent achievement of quality standards. The work requires making decisions that support company guidelines authoritatively and quickly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Parent Education
o Facilitate parent education groups
o Provide one-on-one, home-based parent support and education in Wood County.
o Consult with other early childhood serving providers and staff on early childhood topics and parenting.
o Maintain accurate and objective records of client’s participation and progress.
o Accurately report participant and program outcomes required by grants and funders.
· Outreach
o Research and participate in community outreach events such as Project Connect, Early Childhood Taskforce Child Find events, and county fairs.
o Facilitate Individual informational parent education seminars for parents, caregivers, and other child/family serving professionals
o Advocate for family needs within the community
· Collaboration with inter-agency/intra-agency service providers
o Work with community-based support workers and other service providers such as Job and Family Services case managers and Early Intervention Service Providers in implementing appropriate service plans for families
o Conduct self with appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
· Maintain licensure/certification and further develop competencies and clinical skills
o Attend regularly scheduled supervision meetings
o Attend appropriate number of in-service hours based on yearly licensure/certification
· Professionalism

o Promote agency mission and values and comply with professional Code of Ethics (see attached agency documents)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s Degree (or higher) in mental health, human services, early intervention, or early childhood education
Knowledge and experience with child development, birth to age eight
Some knowledge on ACES and the impact of trauma and chronic stress on families
Experience with at-risk, low-income populations
Knowledge and experience with parent education
Maintain current licensure or certification by appropriate body in the State of Ohio, practicing only within the scope of that licensure

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
A satisfactory criminal records check (BCI and FBI check)
Valid driver’s license and transportation with insurance
