City of Seguin is Hiring a Multimedia Specialist (PT) Near Seguin, TX

Summary Of PositionThe City of Seguin is seeking a highly creative and motivated Multimedia Specialist. The ideal candidate for this position has specific experience with photography, videography, motion graphics and video editing, and is also outgoing individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service. The Multimedia Specialist will assist with multimedia projects based on city departmental priorities and needs. This position will produce and edit video, motion graphics, photos, audio and other content under the direction of the Public Information Officer for use on the city’s cable channel, website and social media platforms. The Multimedia Specialist may serve in a back-up/assistant capacity to the public information officer. The position is part-time with up to 35 hours per week.
Examples Of WorkEssential Duties*
  • Serves as the City’s primary videographer for the creation of multi-media projects, including promotional videos, public service announcements, website content, social media content, podcasts, the city’s cable channel content and promotional/marketing campaigns;
  • Works with individual departments and divisions to prepare videos that inform, educate and engage our community;
  • Assists Public Information Officer with photography and graphic design needs; assists in the execution of social media campaigns and postings, monitors and may assist in responding to comments via the City’s social media channels; assists in maintaining the city website;
  • Responsible for all photo and video content from start to finish including capturing content and editing;
  • Coordinates activities and materials supporting photo and video shoot projects;
  • Designs, transports, sets up, and operates production equipment for productions;
  • Performs script writing, pre-production planning, and post-production video editing;
  • Uses various media including graphics, animations, music and voice overs to create professional content;
  • Maintains and organizes photography and video assets for use in future projects in a digital asset library;
  • Maintains the city’s audio/visual equipment and ensures that it is in proper running order;
  • Stays well-informed of new trends in videography, photography and other multi-media areas;
  • May serve as IT staff support/back-up for City Council meetings;
  • May serve in a back-up/assistant capacity for the Public Information Officer;
  • Performs other duties as assigned;
  • Available to work some evenings, weekends, city events and/or holidays as needed.
Acceptable Experience And TrainingBachelor’s Degree in Communications, Radio-TV-Film or related field and three (3) years of experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Note: This position requires a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Starting PayStarting Pay: $16.83/hour
