Superior Court of California County of Los Angeles is Hiring a CMS Training & Support Specialist Near Los Angeles, CA


 

ABOUT THE COURT
Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles (Court) is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Its 580 judges and commissioners work in one of the 40 facilities within the Court's 12 judicial districts and are supported by more than 4,500 full-time Court employees. The Court has an annual budget of more than $855 million. Located in Southern California, Los Angeles County is geographically one of the nation's largest counties, covering 4,084 square miles and, with over 10,400,000 residents, is also one of its most populous counties.

ABOUT THE POSITION 

This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies in multiple areas of the Court such as Learning & Development, Testing and Support, and TechED Judicial Training. Experience in all areas is not required or expected.

Learning & Development (L&D)

The CMS Training and Support Specialist in L & D works collaboratively with teams across the Court to develop and deliver curriculum and training on Case Management Systems (CMS) and other Operations applications, litigation concepts, court operations procedures, and other professional development topics to all court staff employees.

Testing and Support Unit (TSU)

The CMS Training and Support Specialist in TSU works in collaboration with a team to support end-users and provide knowledge and expertise of a specific litigation area or business process within the context of a CMS which includes Enterprise Justice (Odyssey), Clerk Edition, eCourt, eFiling systems, and other software tools used by operations. The CMS Training and Support Specialist provides a wide range of technical assistance, testing, troubleshooting, demonstrations, and small group/individual training to support the Case Management Systems and other Court operations applications. 

TechED Judicial Training (TechED)

The CMS Training and Support Specialist in TechED works collaboratively with judicial leadership, Court Technology Services (CTS), Operations, and other teams across the court to develop and execute training plans and curriculum, teach, and provide training support to judicial officers on all technologies used by judicial officers, including both judicial benchviews.

TELEWORK OPPORTUNITIESThis position may be eligible for frequent telework following an initial training period contingent upon the Court's operation unit.


SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:To qualify, you must meet one (1) of the following options at the time of application:


Option I: 
Three (3) years of experience at the level of Judicial Assistant* or Court Services Supervisor** -AND- United States citizenship.
  
Option II:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university -AND- one (1) year of experience at the level of Judicial Assistant* or Court Services Supervisor** -AND- United States citizenship.
  
Note: 
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:The ideal candidate will be independent, reliable, adaptable, and possess the following desirable qualifications:

  • Advanced working knowledge and experience with major court technologies, including Enterprise Justice and/or eCourt case management systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more litigation areas, including policies and procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with court staff, teams, and external vendors and ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely. 
  • Experience with designing, developing, and presenting training programs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and techniques to aid in the creation of effective computer and business process training for individuals and groups.
  • Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills to analyze data and identify data patterns and trends.
  • Experience implementing Court technology to facilitate training and development opportunities, and/or providing Court technology support.
