VISION: Bismarck State College will be a leader in polytechnic education improving lives and building sustainable communities.

• Provides sales and customer service which includes greeting customers when they enter the Bookstore, Power Bean Café, Well Bean Café or Mystic Java, selling Bookstore merchandise, making coffee drinks, and selling convenience food items during day and or evening hours. Answers the phone and fields questions, etc.
• Maintains good public relations while working with faculty, staff, and customers.
• Handles monetary functions including cash security and use of point-of-sale system.
• Maintains supplies and overall cleanliness for all stores (which includes cleaning and upkeep of equipment).
• Maintains cleanliness of snack food within the coffee shop areas which includes making sure it is stocked with pop, assorted candies, chips, cookies etc.
• Assists with store promotional events and sales.
• Supports innovation, creativity, and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, etc. in the department and as a whole for the college.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

• Two years of retail and/or barista experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated positive customer service skills, and ability to relate to people of varying ages and backgrounds.
• Good computer software skills – Microsoft Office Suite, email, and electronic calendar (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently and handle interruptions.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds (essential function).

• Retail or customer service and/or barista experience.
• Experience in a college environment.
